Hi! Sorry. We're coming back soon. Thanks for your patience!

Outro music is “Showtime (Piano Refrain)”, by Malcolm Brown, arranged & performed by Kevin Regamey. It is from the album "Homestuck vol. 1-4", available to listen and download on Bandcamp.

Apr 16, 2017

The first 4/13 without an upd8 has come and passed (unless you count the Hiveswap trailer), but we're still here in the throes of Act 5, so let's get to it! (And Happy Easter, if you're into that.)

This time: Murders, mystery, smooching, and fanatical revelations on the meteor while John and Jade finally get to catch up. Karkat turns his back on the body. Pages 5221 to 5322.

Hamometer reading: 41.84%.

Next time: Further murders and further mysteries, still on the meteor and potentially elsewhere. Ancestors turn out to be terrible bad role models. Somebody else turns out to be a paradox. Pages 5323 to 5416.

(We want to give a CW for page 5407 in next week's reading for sexual assault. You can skip the page and still understand the story.)

We return from our unexpected hiatus to bring you fresh ham!

This week: Jade and Karkat hatch a weird plan. WV has a vision while the rest of the exiles get ready for action. Jack goes on wreaking havoc and Vriska and Tavros square off, sort of. Jade picks up a very important new hobby. Pages 5139 to 5220.

(But first, lots of off-record chatter because it's our podcast and we'll embarass ourselves if we want to.)

Hamometer reading: 40.60%.

Next week: It gets even more violent on the trolls' meteor and Kanaya and Terezi investigate. Karkat gets a warning from a credible source. Also, very important smooching. Pages 5292 to 5364.

This week: Oh gosh, a whole bunch. Abdication, coronation, cryptic exposition, a splintered timeline, more cryptic exposition, and a bunch of self-trolling (and troll-trolling) paradoxical Pesterlogs. Pages 3508 to 3568.

There’s also:

  • This nudibranch* (hee) that totally does look like PM.
  • The sweet animation introducing us to splintered-timeline-Dave’s Land. (Find the jam on Bandcamp here.)
  • The other sweet animation in which Jack Noir gets his usurping on. (Find this jam on Bandcamp, too.)
  • Postgame of Thrones, which we keep talking about because it is a good podcast about Game of Thrones

*Alex apologizes for conflating sea cucumbers with sea slugs.

Hamometer reading: 20.39% complete. 40.34% of the way to [S] Cascade!

Next week: Mostly, we recap the Year 1 Recap. Also John goes through a gate (and doesn’t die this time.) The trolls troll each other IRL. Pages 3569 to 3619.

Or: The Hams go to meatspace.

This week: Multiple appearances of eggy loking thigns [sic]. We meet two queens. PM’s objectives escalate rather quickly. John, Dave and Rose turn the trolling around on the trolls. Pages 3402 to 3507.

There’s also:

  • Let Me Tell You About Homestuck is a podcast read-aloud of Homestuck (with music!) that runs just about through where we are now in the comic.
  • The Homestuck Podcast digs into a different Homestuck topic in every episode.
  • The Allusionist, not a Homestuck but a linguistics podcast.
  • Lydia bought the mega-album Homestuck vol. 1-4, and you can too.

Hamometer reading: 19.65% complete. 38.88% of the way to [S] Cascade!

Next week: PM cuts a risky deal. John follows GallowsCalibrator’s advice. Four months later, everything has gone absolutely to hell; Rose and Dave handle it. Archagent Jack Noir finally snaps. Pages 3508 to 3568.
